  • Definitely get the app.

The hazard perception app is brilliant at teaching when the dvla think you should be pressing the key, and for how long.

    This all day long.

Ymmv but I really struggled to get to grips with the timing to start.

  • Lol. Eagle eyes!

  • So sort of riding round the test center ;) You tell this story often :P It is still funny.

  • See BQ post. He is right.

  • I did a few hazard perception test, got paid to test the system, and I failed every one that I took seriously. Everything can be a hazard....DVLA disagree. Hence why @bq is right.

  • Nerves are a fucker, now relax deep breathes with slow exhales. You know you can do this.

If you can sus that, show me how ;)

    Stay safe

  • @phildas right I got that app. Hazard perception. Tried a video, clicked on hazards, failed. When I re watch the video it highlights the hazard I think the red lines are when I clicked, green bits are when I should have clicked?

Been working nights and my brain is fried but I can’t see how it’s helping me.

When I load the video again and try and click at the right time I fail again.
    Help!

  • Not sure why I’m failing

  • It’s giving you 0 marks?
Must just be a bug. First green square is 5 marks and gradient down to 1. You’d have scored 5 on that. If it’s not working properly just use it to practise, you can still at least see you’re getting it right

  • So you could score max points with one click?

And the instruction vid says you don’t get down marked for clicking on other shit as long as you don’t go over the top?
    Cheers

  • Yes don’t click too many times, don’t click in a pattern. Which may be why you got no marks there if you clicked a second apart 5 times.
Max marks with one click for getting it early. I usually clicked again just to be sure as in practise I sometimes clicked “too early”

  • 14 videos in your real test, one will have 2 hazards though you won’t know which. 75 possible marks, you need 45 or something to pass

  • I didn’t think those hazard perception dvds were any good beyond one use

  • That’ll be it. Tried again with 2 clicks, 4 points... cheers

  • Yeah I’m pretty confident with the road ride, just hoping I don’t miss anything silly with road signs etc as I’m not really used to using them for navigation. In the car I usually have a human satnav!

Also found out yesterday that a friend broke her arm on her first mod 1, so it could have been worse...

  • broke it on what manouvre?

  • Fell off practicing U-turns just before the test.

  • Rode my new toy home this morning

  • So nice, like the colour combo.

  • Lovely.

Aviators plus denim or leather jacket?

  • I’ll probably alternate.

I was originally gonna switch the bars right away, biltwell zeds or something, but the position is actually pretty great, really comfy and surprisingly nimble

  • Hive mind, is a 1998 CBR600f3 likely to have come in Repsol colours originally or is it a kit? Wheels/tank and DVLA colour are all orange...

  • Don't think so - don't remember any Repsol Rep CBR6s of that era.

    J.

  • Ah shame, there's a repsol RR round the corner from me for £6k or the above fake F3 on gumtree for £1.5k - thought I'd found something cool.
