Frameset for sale on eBay at the moment with a 'cracked headtube', but this is the only evidence. Spoke to the seller and he said there's no movement in, this is the only suggestion that it's cracked. What do others reckon? It looks like a scratch to me...

It's the bulbous, alomosr blistering, paint that would worry me more.

Just looks like bad paint to me... What frameset is it? If it's mega cheap I'd take a gamble and if it's steel it could be an easy repair even if it is damaged.

It's mega, mega cheap for what it is. Sharing it because it's too big for me. If it was a 56 I'd be taking the risk. Seller has added a better photo (number 12) which shows it a bit better, but I think it's just unfortunate oxidation which looks worse than it is.

The tank saw its first sunlight today. Still a long way to go.

What about this? Or is it just a weird reflection?

It got me at first, but I'm pretty sure that's just a reflection. It's not in the next photo and I've been chatting with the guy - he said the thing in the last photo is the 'crack'.
I'd be all over it if it was my size and I didn't have a second child due any second...

Cleaned up my winter bike and noticed a few areas that have lost paint that had some surface rust on.
Any ideas what I should do with this...does also appear to be some bobbling on some of the paint near it.
Was thinking of cleaning, sanding and applying some coats of paint like this transparent finish.

Clear nail polish works. Or just regular spray/wipe with GT85.

Hey, can I get some clarification, please?
So right now I'm running 1x7, no chain retention on the front whatsoever. I had one chain drop so far, but I didn't ride the beik that much yet. However I'm a careful guy, so I would like zero chain drops in the future. Here's the current setup on the front:
Should I buy a narrow wide chainring? I have a 110 BCD 5 bolt Shimano Deore FC-MT60 crankset, I guess this is compatible with it. But will it work on a 7 speed system? Most of these NW rings are made for at least 9 speed chains, I know the difference is subtle but it's still there. I could buy a 9 speed chain, but would it work with my 7s rear casette?
I really don't want/cannot spend much ( on this. I guess I could fix the problem with installing a chain guard or simply a front derailleur, but it looks wank. Ideas?

Maybe, but at least one with full teeth. 7-speed chain should run OK on N/W rings, there's a good chance that 9-speed chain will run on your 7-speed sprockets but you'd have to check.

Mostly speculative but I think you’ll be fine running a 9speed nw chainring with a 7 speed chain.. I also reckon you’ll have more trouble installing a 9 speed chain as it might be too narrow for the 7 speed cassette?
Edit- tstr beat me to it

Thanks for the fast answers! Would a 3/32" single speed chainring do the trick though? Not like I have found one that has the right amounth of teeth so far, but I'll keep looking (these seem to be cheaper).

I've run several 9-speed chains on 7-speed cassettes and chainrings. They've all worked just fine. The 9-speed chain has narrower side plates, so is narrower on the outside, but internally the widths of the links are almost identical.
I don't know whether it would solve any chain dropping issues though.

That looks...hefty...

Almost, but not quite. In practice, most cassette sprockets, yeah even unto 6-speed, have been stamped from 2mm stock so they will accept 9/10/11-speed chain, but 5/6/7/8-speed chain has a roller width of 2.4mm and 9/10/11-speed has a roller width of 2.2mm, so it's possible for a sprocket to exist which accepts one but not the other.

It would be less likely to drop than what you have now.

Fair play Tester and good to know. I was fairly sure there was a slight difference, hence my words "almost Identical", but thanks, I've learned more accurately what the actual difference is now.

Rad. Which bars are those?
I realise I made it sound worse then it is, but the current therapy suggests no sport at all, so I am a bit frustrated. Thanks!
@withered_preacher
I remeber reading it before, will give it another go.
