What is the best way of repairing some small cuts and holes in a tyre? (gp4000sII)

I'm not convinced there is any point, and have stopped doing it

If sand/mud get in the cuts it may prove to be more puncture resistant than fixing it, but makes me worry a bit less (as I generally have to do the inner tube repairs on any ride)
