  • Currently trying to decide if 7 weeks is enough to train for the london to brighton 100km I'm signed up for (purely walking)

It's a well supported event with aid stations every 12.5km and runs over 2 days so there's no cut-off times to chase, just need to get enough time on my feet between now and then.

when I trained for the 24hr thing last year I managed 75km on 11 weeks training but 4 of those weeks just before the event I had sprained both wrists and elbows going over my handlebars and did almost no exercise/movement for most of it.

am only working 3 days a week now so would be able to do 2 long walks a week up to marathon distance based on my training last year on my off days with one or two days of rest in between.

just need the weather to sort itself out so it doesn't suck being outside for 8 hours at a time.

  • not a bad shout actually, my clients use hot desking and i'm always in early to make sure I nab one of the normal height desks but there's another block at standing height with bar stools I could use instead. wouldn't have to rush in either. double win
