  • Just enjoyed this 30 min retro gem. You can see where Alan Partridge got his sports desk inspiration.

  • Filth - love it.

  • Lets hope it stays like that

  • Nah its been dry for two days over here

  • Don't know about the extent to which it'd make a difference, but on instagram they were saying that the velodrome was ~7*C colder than when the aussies broke their TP record.

  • Best race of the year for me - can't wait.

  • I remember reading somewhere (probably in relation to the hour records) that it's about 1.5w more watts required per 1 degree reduction to cycle at 30mph.

Possibly this number is complete bollocks.

  • All this talk of velodromes and temperatures and I'm getting my Roubaixs mixed up with my Brisbanes. Know which one I'm looking forward to.

  • Going to watch Paris-roubaix in person in the velodrome this weekend. Appreciate any tips?

  • Make sure you have a phone with you that can stream the race. Last year the big screens were positioned badly and it is hard to get a seat where you can see the screen but also good view of the velodrome.
My friends and I sat one the velodromes south side right where they enter. It was so sick watching the race on Eurosport player and hearing the helicopter come closer, the roars of the crowds outside the velodrome get louder and louder and then suddenly you look up and the riders appear in front of you.
That and bring your own beer.

  • Go to the cobbles... ;)

We did 5 sectors a few years back. Then got right at the start of arenburg. Then watching it on the big screen there. Wicked day.

  • Reading INRNG’s preview getting well excite for the race. Hands down the best race on the calendar, the ratcheting up of tension and pace as they approach the trench just amazing. Hoping against hope someone else than a QS rider animates the race, the dream would be G or Stannard.

  • Oh it’s going to be warm. Stannard is about 70th then

  • Where’s good to watch it live in London tomorrow?

  • LMNH, or the Rapha cafes.

  • Also probably Hex in Shoreditch

  • So who are people pegging for the win? I can't decide so put £1 on Daniel Oss and hope that Sagan doesn't make him work too hard early on.

  • Cycling cap porn, bike porn, some of the worst commentary from Liggett I have ever heard...

  • Terpstra's in the zone, no doubt. Still I hope (even as a Dutchman) that the world champ will show his best tomorrow, like in Flanders 2 years ago.

  • Yeah, Sagan ftw.
I reckon he is quite keen on responding to the Boonen beef :) at least I hope so.

  • I want to see Geriant Thomas win.

    Fuck stage races. Who cares.

  • I thought Boonen's words were remarkable/off too, as Sagan has always animated races, it's just for the past season or so he's starting to race smarter and not doing all the work by himself. He already replied without words btw, have you seen this? ;)

  • Yeah Yeah. I am aware and big fan boy of both
