They're directional. They don't have to be at the highest point, but the higher it is, the less chance of interference/signal being blocked. You can find out where to point it here https://ukfree.tv/prediction
After some work on my roof my downstairs neighbours have complained that their TV reception is knackered (which is fair enough). Seems the builders took the aerial down but didn't reinstate them.
Do aerials have to go on the highest point of the roof or can they go on the wall? Does what way they're pointing make a difference, if so which way should they point?
