Probably drunk tweet, but obviously ironic... Apparently it didn't work as intended!

Hope the Ardennes races won’t be as boring as erm, always.
Five years ago now (sigh)...
...and though there’s no Vino ofc, with Nibali in good form, there’s a chance of something happening at LBL.

Brian Holm is a bit of a tool with a good haircut though.

I stand corrected, he's just a tool

About 30 riders DQed at Scheldeprijs for ducking a train barrier.
All were in the second group. The race looks like it’ll be contested by a group of about 40 riders.

Absolute morons.

Being so committed to keep racing that you’ll risk your life is lunacy. A tiny of me respects them for the sentiment, if not the actual act.
Attacks from the main bunch now. Katusha have got more guys that everyone else. I assume Kittel is in there.

Last weekend, the number 21 in a juniors’ race won it; the 20 before him crossed a closed railway crossing and were dq’d - rightly so

Echelons AND a train barrier descending!

Nice win for Jakobsen, and yup, Quick-Step. I'm starting to wonder if they'll let Phil win on Sunday, just like old times...

A fair point from Conor Dunne
Genuine mistake today and I'm sorry. In a group chasing full gas just behind the front group after a crash caused a split in bunch. We were going full gas and I did not see the railway until I was literally on it. Did not see any red lights or hear any alarm. 1/2

Really it should be marshalled. With them blocking progress to get racers to stop. I can fully sympathise with not noticing it till last moment.
-
• #15916
What's a marshall going to add to that? Jump in their way? This is getting silly.
-

to be fair, the few races I've done I have no idea where I am at all and an hour passes in a flash, so i think it's understandable. I assume the crossing is the attached - I can't see why the race route couldn't just avoid it?

Essentially, they can stand in the road as riders approach and get them to slow, getting their attention.
At 55kmph, you're not really that observant of what's going on around. Or stopping that quickly.

New WR, thanks lads.

Harry Tanfield's commentary on it in his instagram stories is fairly good

Nice to see the Aussies peaking at the mid point between Olympics.

Comm Games is still pretty important to us (well, not to me, I've ignored it until now) and a WR is a WR. You're the fastest team ever, not just in some 4yr interval money laundering event...
what, will Valverde finally have some comptetition up the Mur de Huy?! ;-) Love the close racing of Roglic and Alaphilippe
Hope the Ardennes races won't be as boring as erm, always.
