  • I'm taking a month of shared parental leave and me, wife, and bab are going to Puglia to chill in the sun, paddle in the sea, and just generally eat our way around the area for a month.

I know I don't really need tips or advice, it'll all be fresh, local, and cheap, but if anyone knows the area and can recommend a standout restaurant or 2 for special meals during the month, and what the local dishes I should be looking for out for are?

  • Went to puglia last year, will pm you, and send across a document that I put together with some info on the places we wanted to go to, cribbed from websites, etc, places to see, beaches to go to, and some recommendations for restaurants. Didn't hit all of them, but managed to go to Lecce, Polignano A Mare, and Santa Maria A Bagno.

I found the food to be a bit rustic/heavy, but that could have been the restaurants we were going to, pretty filling though. Obviously drink as much coffee as you can, we had a lovely apartment in Polignano, and there was a local coffee shop a mins walk away, one of the joys of a morning was waking up, slapping down a few euro's and getting an amazing macchiato. Bread's good there as well..

Enjoyed Lecce, alot, we were staying on the edge of the old town, had some great ice cream in there, and ate at a lovely restaurant on the edge of the old town that was really good, but was taken there by a friend, so can't remember the name.

Wine in and around that area is pretty good as well..

    File incoming..
