  • If he were to take a stance, he could quite possibly make a difference (to the recruitment and retention of socially-conscious talent in Vista cycling brands) that leaves the gun brands (slightly) compromised ... not sure he realises that.

    He could make a difference, he could put those people out of a job. If suddenly everyone stops buying Giro stuff you really think that's going to put a dent in Vista's profits? All that would happen is they see it's no longer profitable and close/asset strip the company and make more guns/ammo which are profitable/

  • If sales suddenly nosedived as the result of a boycott, I'd expect to see some form of sell-off/management buyout to someone who wasn't linked to the gun trade in the same way. I mean, these businesses were clearly attractive enough to Vista that they bought them in the first place; if they become liabilities, wouldn't they try and get what they can from them?

  • Either way would result in job losses and upset.

    If people want to lobby arms companies then they should do that, harming or killing Giro is the equivalent of trying to take down a dragon with a box of matches.
