• http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/sbc_accucell1.htm popped this in last night as it was a bit "gainy" finally had the cajones to pop the cover and it had a 394 in it which was 1.5v wheras it should be 1.35v to be correct. SBC were an excellent company to deal with, and quick. I had to give the watch the "flick" to get the tuning fork going again, but I'll swear it actually sounds better with the correct battery.

  • I suspect that you have been quite lucky not to fry the movement. Thanks, that’s actually pretty helpful. Time to get mine buzzing again!

I’ve got the itch. Can’t stop thinking about buying a new watch. Can’t really afford it, don’t know what I want...but have nearly impulse bought several times this week already.

  • Selling me your Eterna 1948 for £100 will offset the guilt. Been watching ebay since you posted that and feck all’s come up.

  • Well scratching that itch doesn't have to be Zenith, Ulysses Nardin or Le Coultre. I picked up this fun NOS thing on ebay for £30 including post from Athens. Serviced as well. He's got two left... I think my greatest regret was selling my Venus Cal Navitimer for flumptence when I was broke.
