  • Well I did stop using SKS mudguards after that, which has helped no end. Going to try VO next.

  • Gappy frame is gappy.

The solution is simple: bigger tyres! Win-win.

  • ^ Nailed it @TomvanHalen

  • howdy all, does anyone have any experience with Challenge Strada Bianca in 30mm? how do they compare to Open Pave? looking at options for the Paris Roubaix sportive and don't dare attempt tubeless that far from home... (as I've never setup/use before etc)
    Cheers,
    Matt

  • Put them on my Isen. Eventually. I think obviously it depends on your rim but it took me about a week and an extra pair of hands to get them on without pinching a tube. They look great and come out about 32ish on a 20mm internal but beware you may be in for a serious struggle. The vulcanised race version of the Paris roubaix went on super easy, so imagine the strada bianca race would too, think it’s just the open tubular.

  • Any love for the Corsa G Control ?

  • Strada Bianca are lovely and soft, feel quick, but they aren't as tough as open pave. Depends how much you value puncture resistance.
I haven't tried the new Corsa pave replacement yet, but I'd go for that.

  • Are Schwalbe G Ones hopeless over wet ground?

I’m doing a route on Sunday that is classic gnar/gravé/singletarck but it’s pretty wet. Are these new tyres all designed for California/Clapham or will they work in the rainy Cotswolds too?

  • Have them on my road bike - seem a bit sturdier that the standard corsa’s I have on the summer bike, not punctures as of yet

  • I've ridden the g one allround on muddy single tracks and came out with my clothes clean

  • Very thick sidewall makes a harsh ride, but they did Copenhagen-Riga with just 1 puncture.

  • Thanks
    I’ll give them a go
I’m a big fan of the corsa g+
Lanes in the New forest are bad this time of year

  • Cheers, what’s the pace replacement? Corsa G+?

  • Corsa control g+

  • I wanted a tire slightly more voluminous and knobbier than the marathon supreme for spring and summer touring so I tried the hutchinson overide.
I must confess that after a few rides I'm not happy with this tires. They're better on gravier but feel slower on tarmac. The shape of the tire is not very round making me feel like driving a big truck.
I have the gravelking in 700x38 in my radar, anyone compare them to supreme or compass ?

  • Knobbly tires will always be slower on tarmac than slicks

  • Just been offered some Pirelli P-Zero 4S in 28mm... anyone ridden these and Open Pave? any opinions? still over thinking this for P-R sportive next week...
    Cheers,
    Matt

  • Hey, anyone know where I can get cream/beige coloured tyres? Preferably 30-38mm 700c ones? I'm sure Schawlbe used to do some but it appears they don't any more.

  • Have Pirelli PZero 4S 25mm on my Archetype rims, measure around 27mm mounted. All-round very good, great grip and comfort, look cool (if that matters to you). Fully competitive with Conti which is the gold standard for road clinchers. For ride quality, I prefer them to the 24mm Open Pave clincher (though these come up narrower). The 27mm Open Pave tubulars are a different matter...

  • 26' slicks(ish) around 2.2
Want some fat tyres on my Bridgestone again.
All I can find is Halo and everything else is too knobbly.

  • I can compare the 38c GK SK to the 38c Vittoria hyper - on road there is a little more buzz but speed wise doesn’t feel that much different. Definitely don’t feel like tractor tyres.

  • Maybe the Fairweather for Traveler from P-X?

  • Schwalbe Sammy Slick
    Continental Speedking
    Schwalbe Kojak

  • Maybe tractor tyres was a bit too much. I commuted last week and I became more used to them. To convince myself I was considering putting back the supreme but tubeless setup doesn't make switching tyres easy.
