I will do and will report back. I spoke to another mechanic today, he is open to the challenge and is willing to invest in tools to fit T47 BBs, but he is asking the same question - why?
- 30mm axles are required to run Cannondale SiSl cranks.
- I like these cranks, and have used them on a number of bikes.
- PF30 has generally been fine for me, I've only been caught out when other people have built the bike and have not followed the correct process
- But fitting a threaded bottom bracket is very hard to make a mess of, and mechanics who may not follow the correct PF30 process are going to have a harder time buggering up T47
- The oversize shell does present more area to weld too, which when using oversize tubing is useful
- And it provides more room to fit cables and so forth through the shell
- I saw Chris King talk about this "new" (actually very old) standard, and thought why not
