Yeah, though I think Stephane has been rather strong towards the end of a race before. His position in TCR last year on the checkpoints was 16-11-10-9-9, so he might be getting a second wind at some point.

He needs a second dynamo by the sounds of it - not wind. Strange he doesnt have a back up..

Shiit. I think he's had battery lights before, so might be something with the new untested parts or loose wires or something. Or just that those thru axle dynamos are not that durable, still.

The other factor is climbing. Stephane is pretty small, right? How big is Abdullah? It might be differnet once they get past Melbourne in the last third of the route

The roads in Oz are way better than Europe, I'm fatter than him and mine is still going strong. Maybe he just hit the only pothole in 2000k and shook something loose?

I was thinking exactly that. That 200km lead might prove handy once the climbing starts.

However - abdullah knows these climbs well - living between radaleide and Melbourne for a while now.

I didn't see a pothole before Nundroo. Seriously, there are none. There was one before Adelaide and a few more in Victoria when it gets busier.

Most probably yes. But i think Rishi's TA dynamo hub failed in few hundred kms of training in there, though that was one of the first ones and there seemed to be something wrong with those.

I'm planning on getting some of that Veet stuff, in case it was the big horse flies/march flies that fucked my tendons in TABR last year.

He could order a new dynamo wheel in Adelaide if he can cycle the 800km in daylight. Bit of a setback, but at least he would get some decent sleep.

Abdullah has been breaking often a bit in the last 24hrs compared to previous and there is now the pack getting close to Stephane, so maybe one of those goes for it. Going to be interesting.
