Anyone got one of the tmars cheapo droppers that's fucked, but in a different way than mine, broke part of the saddle clamp.

Any recommendations for good rigid carbon 29er forks with 15mm bolt thru that aren't £450 niner or enve ones?

What's wrong with the Reba you have? Or is this a weenie project?

Thinking of going rigid on the ss 29er for xc racing and building up the 650b bike with 1x10, 120mm fork and dropper for long days in the saddle.
At the minute I'm struggling to justify building up the second bike as they wouldn't be different enough to have a reason to keep both.

I wouldn't do that rigid SS personally but there you go. Is there a rigid SS category you can win? If not I always take the 'easy life' path because lets face it XC racing is fucking hard - even getting to the bloody races - so why make it harder?

Very true. Also I don't have £300+ to spend on a fork

rigid SS is a step too far in the puritan stakes IMHO. geared+rigid or ss+sus is where it's at :~)

Carbon SS fatbike?

Admittedly I found myself lapping strathpuffer in January with a chap on a proper rigid ss (niner air9 rdo) and have found myself lusting after once since. I raced the first round of MSG on ss which almost killed me, and never really felt I needed a lot of fork travel.
That said the cheapest option right now is to leave the 100mm fox float on.
Surprised at lfgss, steering me away from a pointless expensive purchase.

Steel rigid forks > carbon rigid.

exception allowed if you have big tyres and a dropper

• #11221
rigid SS is very great in certain scenarios, for me it was riding canal towpaths, so good!
but in many other scenarios it quickly becomes quite annoying
I don't have the highs of SS any more but I don't have the crushing lows either (50km into a headwind when you just want to be home already)

Now that I live in the South Downs I'm very rapidly coming to terms the concept of 1x10.

What's the go-to 27.2 dropper post?
They seem to be rare.
Old and fucked and no modern fork will fit it and I think it’s 27.5 (750b lul Wut) wheels in a frame designed for 26” everything will be knackered because it’s ten years old, 27.2 so few dropper options but if you fancy paying £300 for an obsolete nothing special probably rotten frame with some probably knackered components go for it - you’ll find me in the bargain hardtail aisle at Go Outdoors getting something modern with warranty for a few pennies more
