• Fair fair. I do think 48/32 needs be far more common for everyday use.

    With a 11-28 cassette, it make for a great road gearing with a closer ratio between each cog, and the only time you might miss the 50 or 52t chainring is when racing and/or going down alpine road.

    With a 11-36 cassette, it turn the 32t chainring into an MTB gearing yet kept the 48t as a "1x11" road gearing (with similar jump to an old 8 speed cassette).
    Specialized made the right move in choosing to fit an MTB derailleur hanger on their Sequoia to allow the 105 derailleur to work with a 11-36t cassette.
