Super finish

Absolutely phenomenonal! I got shivers. Said early on I'd love to see a gc rider take it. So good to see someone bury themselves so deep to keep away the sprinters. Excellent.

Edge of seat stuff, was watching with a non cyclist, he was screaming along with me

Anyone seen any updates about Cav?

Triffic finish

That was pretty special to watch. Go Nibali!

Excellent. Ewan must be fuming, was well clear of any other sprinter. Defo a few big wins for him this year.

MSR is beyond me. 7 hours of virtually nothing year on year, then 10 mins unpredictable racing. It's Meh compared the the other spring classics. If it were a grand tour stage it'd be recapped by one of those episodes where Boardman rides a penny farthing and eats some regional dishes.
I didn't come here to be popular, I came here to express my feelings.

Totally worth the wait this year IMO

That prefect explains why I think you're wrong. It was an astoundingly great race. I'd swap any mountain top finish for that

Which other race can see either a classics rider, a sprinter or a GC rider win?

This is were news on Cavendish is likely to surface:

It's not that you're wrong (and thanks for the article @fredtc) but I don't think the unpredictability of the winner outweighs the inevitability that 'it all happens' in the last 10km. But my apologies for being negative on what seems to be a classic edition of MSR.

How the hell has Cav not killed that Cervélo with fancy F1 paint yet? Can’t keep up with how many times he’s crashed it into things.

From a comment on the INRG post (from the author) on it: "For me MSR is real rather than than contrived drama of a cookery show, you can watch for hours but have to find satisfaction in looking for the small details or treat it like radio, something to have in the background." I guess I'm the latter.

To be fair, that bollard needed a marshall - it was very easy for the bunch to hide it until the last moment.

Pretty sure it's mission accomplished after today:

Greipel went down in the same crash I think, has broken his collarbone.
Thought they were going to catch him there, what a win!
