  • Hope they also did the brakes and suspension!!!

  • I'm just questioning whether you want to own a car that was previously in the care of someone who would do such a thing ;)

  • Curb the owner is quite sheepish how it happened. There is no visible body damage, all damage underneath.... so checking if the shell is bent or just a case of drill out a few spotwelds and replace a few suspension bits...

Been sitting outside for quite a few years as the car is covered in moss growing in some areas.

  • Know what you mean. But could also be loved, all be it no to my taste!

  • I went to a BTCC race at Donnington in the 90s, I remember Tiff Needell in a red Old Spice Nissan Primera, thanks to the magic of the internet I've just looked it up and it was 1994, Alain Menu, Paul Radisich, haven't heard those names in years!

  • Was perusing the memes thread and saw this, how good does a simple ass 997 coupe look in red?

  • I'm with @coldharbour I've yet to see a BMW that has stuck on M stickers with a well behaved and caring owner

  • I've discounted cars because the owner left the charger plugged into the fag lighter with cables everywhere and rubbish in the door pockets when taking the photographs.

  • Great stuff. I loves me a sleeper.

  • Anyone know if there is a bank transfer limit? New car is just under 11k, be annoying if HSBC won’t allow me to pay for it

  • Normally £20k from when i was looking

  • Trade seller? I bought the DB9 on a debit card. I got one of Barclays’ text message but once I’d replied to that it was all good.

  • Private sale

  • I've done a £17k online BACS transfer with worrying ease before.

  • Thankfully ive an expert coming to look at it with me. Sadly at a small budget I have to look beyond perfect examples. And find a diamond in the rough.

  • I’ve done an online bacs transfer for £20k with hsbc before, no questions asked.

  • Ok, thanks all. Next challenge is having the money in my account at the correct time then.

  • Quick question: I have been offered a 1991 Peugeot 505 GTi wagon (ok, estate) in pretty good condition. 4 speed auto. For 2 grand but I need to go 400 kilometers to pick it up. Certainly has the rarity and interest factor.

But then I just found a 97 E39 BMW 528i estate in very good condition with full service history. 1 year full registration included. 230,000 Kay's.
    It's only 4 grand.

Go with my weirdo fascination for old french junk or go with the BMW and it's potentially high running costs? Surely the 528 is a better car all round?

  • 4g for an e39 with 200kay. That’s about 3g too much. A grand is 1000 right, not 100 pounds.

  • Australian dollaz. To put into perspective $1000 buys you about 1 year registration and compulsory insurance.

  • Ah no idea then. Ignore me.

  • Wood.

@skinny Get ya completely. in same boat as you with the Scooby I want.

  • Weather was absolutely horrid, but the cars were epic and a lot of people did some serious driving.

  • Found on, got a good deal. Good service history and good previous owner. Happy.

Now to work out how to get some better audio in it. Seems tricky with the iDrive and no pre out on stock headunit.
