  • Says he’ll be riding for others. 300km with a broken rib? No thanks.

  • you have to watch it while drinking for the last hour at least, just to see the drunken shouting ratchet up.

    ftfy

  • Shame Bardet isn't down to ride - Is it optimistic to think he could win MSR one day?

Edit - He's ridden once & finished in the main bunch in the shortened '13 edition...

  • Got pics with Annemiek van Vleuten on the weekend in her full WC kit. #csb

  • Not sure the Poggio is steep/long enough for him to get a decent enough gap on more powerful riders.

    #armchairds

  • I'm audaxing on sat so will be postponing til sunday night and trying to follow the thread in line with when I watch it. Should be interesting.

  • She managed to make the preganancy test then?

    ;)

  • Given his strength at Strade Bianche I hope to see Benoot active on the Poggio. Bunch sprint seems unlikely given the number of puncheurs in the mix so I’ll go with Sagan, Kwiatkowksi, Benoot, Alaphilliipe, Gilbert and a few others to go clear over the Poggio and Sagan to finally pull it out of the bag at La Primavera.

  • I'm backing GVA.

  • Bold. He hasn’t shown any form yet and has been complaining about the questions asking why, saying he isn’t a robot.

    So he’ll probably win.

I reckon with the bad weather and headwind it will be very attritional. The headwind will mean any attack will struggle to keep a gap, bunch sprint from about twenty to thirty riders. As for the winner total lottery. Not Kittel though.

  • I don't think Benoot is racing!

I'm tempted to put a bet on Trentin, he was climbing well in Paris-Nice and has shown he can win longer races like Paris-Tours

  • Right you are! I thought I saw his name on the startlist on steephill, but I was either wrong or it has been updated.

  • I reckon Trentin is a good shout as long as he doesn’t have to work for Ewan too much

  • Surely the team would put their eggs in the Trentin basket ahead of Ewan? I think Ewan might be a contender in this race one day, but he's yet to show the endurance to contend for the win.

  • That said, they both have a best finish of tenth in MSR, that surprises me.

  • Kristoff and Swift have good pedigree in this race and are together at UAE. If it comes down to a bunch kick then Kristoff is a good pick.

  • Getting on Wellens e/w at 50/1 after seeing him sprint in the first stage of Paris Nice.

  • Saw an article with Ewan talking up his chances is all. I doubt any of the pure sprinters will get a sniff but you never know.

  • I forgot about Swift, past winner of course...

  • I don't gamble, but you can get Gilbert at 100-1. That seems fairly generous.

  • just read that germain burton is at jlt condor this year fantastic

  • That seems ridiculously generous, especially as he appears to be in good form and has previously twice made the podium at MSR.

  • Where's this please? Betfair currently have him at 18/1

  • Lotto-Soudal are all-in for Greipel, no Wellens or Benoot.

  • Are you sure? I would’ve thought Jena Keukeleire would be there best chance of a good result.

Greipel has never been in contention at MSR.
