I've decided no Derv, and that 550i is the non lci version, which I've ruled out.
An lci 550i M Sport Touring would get bought pretty much at once.

Oak hill garage in Sutton is where I used to go for a few years

If you debadge the c55 it's essentially invisible so that may be a positive? I'd find out how long you can expect it to hold a battery charge - my cousin has a similar age C200 (i think) and it will flatten it's battery after 2 weeks of no use. Just a thought if it's being parked a lot.

My W124 kept its battery charge well.
With a solar charger and a jump kit in the boot you should be OK leaving it at airports.Go on Neil, do it. You only live once. But don't start tarting it up!

I was thinking a neon undertray and leave it at that- restrained, tasteful.

Not keen on that E39 540i?
-
• #41187
It's nice, C55 has more grunt though, which makes me feel like my pee-pee is larger.

On it. Had an issue with steering wheel judder under braking. So just looking into that.
Oh did you mean 530 or 550? 550 well out my range.

I gotta stop reading this thread, it gets me thinking about an E39 again.

I was talking about the 550 but that 535d looks like banging spec! Love the HUD.

This seems pretty reasonable to me - so, before I accept, I put it to you, the car experts of LFGSS (and Lynx), what else should I consider for a ceiling price of £10,800 that has 300+bhp and an estate style body, that's not a Chrysler.
What about a cheap as chips 550i?
-
• #41192
^ I wouldn't buy a premium car on mismatching tyres, esp not cheap mismatching tyres. What else have they skimped on?
-
• #41194
I'd rather this 540i over that 550i I think: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201803104436295?postcode=se233un&radius=1500&maximum-mileage=80000&fuel-type=Petrol&minimum-badge-engine-size=4.0&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&advertising-location=at_cars&price-to=13000&sort=sponsored&body-type=Estate&page=1
But I'm not a huge fan of the colour.

Arent they rainsport 3? Cheap but not particularly shit, no?
-
• #41197
No idea tbh, just googled and saw they're about 35% cheaper than tyres from a reputable brand. I've never understood why anyone would cheapen out on tyres, esp not on a premium car. It's what keeps you on the road, you never really save that much money in the bigger scheme of things, and they might just save your life.
But that aside, mismatching tyres on a £££ car >>>>>>

I just checked insurance. It's only £1000.
Not sure I could afford petrol!

That score quite highly, especially considering the price. Mismatched though can gtfo
It's not the reliability, it's more that I was always worried that other people wouldn't take care around the Volvo - would open doors into it etc, I just became too precious about it.
Which I know is ridiculous.
