Cheers, which is why 1995 is important, as that was when we (my parents too) become full British Citizen, we were indeed British National (Oversea) before then.
I think I still have my certificate somewhere...
But anyway, thanks.

As tester says - a passport is for travelling. We have no domestic ID card or papers, although the threat of them being introduced is ongoing.

What are these kinds of handlebars called?

I often see them on ladies road bikes from the 80s and they don't quite seem like moustache bars.

North road, three speed, townie, riser, trekking...

Upright also

Yep, most common bar in the world until the 70s bike boom, maybe still so.

North road
I think of a North Road as having more drop (or rise, depending on which way up you fit them) than an Oxford.

Thanks all, but the bars on the Rossin seem to go straight from the stem without doing that extra curve. Also they don't seem to have as much rise.

Velo Orange Belleville looks similar but no curve at all at the front

these 3ttt are similar, but the bars on the Rossin seem to have some drop/rise

Ergotec do a zillion weird shaped bars, I think the ones they've called English look about right.

Could be, but there have been so many variants and manufacturers over time that I would still place it in the same style family.

Maybe Jitensha as well?

Yes, same family and at some point they meet in the middle, but clearly something with no rise is Oxford and something with a lot of drop is North Road :)

Just to muddy the waters, here's a North Road bar from Oxford.

I'm going to sell some stuff on here; it all needs posting though. If I'm a bit cheeky I can do this for free from work but won't have any proof of postage if I do that. I'm not allowed to ask people to pay me via the gift option on Paypal (edit: per the rules) so without proof of postage people could just say it didn't arrive and get a refund. If I don't post through work I'm going to end up sending everything through the Post Office for £3 or whatever.
I feel like I know the answer already but is there any way I can do this so that the buyer doesn't have to pay for postage and neither of us are at risk of being ripped off? I feel like people on here are trustworthy and just want to offer things cheaply :(

Just steal enough from the petty cash tin at work to cover proper postage.

Is the implication that I'm stealing by posting things for free? I suppose you're right, but let me justify it to you. The reason that I am deciding to sell off these parts is that my employer is not paying me for the next 5 months. This is not illegal, I knew it would happen, and I have some savings so that I don't end up homeless. Regardless, it feels a lot like I'm being shafted, so the idea of bending the rules at my employer's cost doesn't exactly fill me with shame. I could sell this stuff locally on Facebook or whatever but people on here are nicer and it seems like I'm less likely to have to deal with pillocks who agree to buy something and then fail to show up, and I wanted people here to have first dibs on what is admittedly a fairly boring set of cheap parts. So it seemed like a win-win - a slight cost saving on parts for people here, less hassle for me, a forum donation somewhere in the mix. But you're right, I should just do it properly. No worries

It's not me you need to convince :)

City bars or swept back bars
Edit: lol way too late to the party

Sell to people who have bought stuff on here before and have been good? Isn't there a good buyers thread or something? It's a risk for sure... Where do you live? Can you maybe do a drop off on a weekend or something if the train or bus is only a few quids? Meet everyone at Look Mum or some central ish location. That'd still hopefully save you postage / fare and you get cash on the day not having to worry about paypal etc...

Well it's a long trip from Edinburgh! But it did occur to me that I could post everything down to one elected representative and have things distributed or collected or something. I do have a bunch of friends in London so I could get them to hold on to things for a little while also though I wouldn't want to inconvenience them too much.
Now that I think about it I don't think I even have that much stuff that's worth selling. Probably overthinking the whole thing. I should do an inventory first.

That's what friends are for, no? If we knew each other in real life, I would be happy to help...
All of that assumes that you are a British Citizen; as a Hong Kong person, you could have had a British Passport as a British National (Overseas), in which case your abode would be visa term, not a right. It still wouldn't be altered by the existence or otherwise of the passport document, the record still exists even if the piece of paper is gone.
