It’s not exactly a pannier but this is really thin, maybe you could adapt or use in the frame?

Two questions:
First of all i have a couple of Alpkit Toliari panniers mounted on a Blackburn outpost front rack. They are clip-ons and seem to fit well, but do they need to be fastened to the rack at the bottom? There are fabric ladder loops that look like thats what they are for...?
Secondly, i have had a bit of a struggle attaching the rack to my forks because the eyelets are too close to the dropouts to allow the attachment to line up. I have managed to get it on by screwing it into the mid fork braze-ons and then at the top with a couple of p-clips around the upper fork. It seems fine overall, nice and straight and the rack sits nice and flat. I just want to post some pictures and get some opinions incase it's a big no-no to do it this way, for whatever reason.
Cheers

Maybe I was unclear: I need a bag, not a rack.if you're laptop is macbook air sized

https://www.carradice.co.uk/bags/commuting-folding/chester-frame-bagI prefer a single bag attachable to one side of the bike.
I am after something like the one on this Urban Racer but a little sturdier.

You’re weldome. Like I said,
maybe you could adapt
... as in attach the bag to a pannier rack. I think you said you might be able to do some work to get what you want. Course, that bag might not fit your device.
Maybe you should contact Big X Top for something custom? You are very hard to please.

I'm looking for a front rack with pannier support + platform, but I don't have mid-fork bosses. I used p-clips in the past but I didn't find them reliable (slides down towards thinner part of blade, becomes loose). I have SO MANY questions:
Is a rack attached to brake + mudguard eyelets less stable than a rack attached to mid-fork + mudguard eyelets?
It seems like Soma used to do this (evidence here ), but they updated their design to this. Perhaps this answers my previous question?
(If your fork doesn't have mini rack eyelets, you can still use the rack. This is just for additional stability and safety)
- This picture is exactly what I want:
It's the Soma again, However, Soma website says the rack is for a max of 10kg. I will probably carry double of that. Will I die?
Any other racks out there? Thanks!

If you can cope with a slightly smaller platform you could use a Surly Nice rack? The front one is rated to something silly (32kg according to Surly) and will actually fit full size panniers just fine if you want. Platform is big enough to add a basket if you want extra space for big fluffy stuff.
Is this for the tandem? We use a Surly Nice on ours and it's great. -

Yes, it's for the tandem. I don't think the Surly Nice can be mounted to the caliper eyelet, can it?

Is a rack attached to brake + mudguard eyelets less stable than a rack attached to mid-fork + mudguard eyelets?
It will stiffen the fork. I don't think it makes much difference, the load is being transferred to the lower mounts anyway. The upper mount is for stability not load carrying.
Soma changed the design to add flexibility rather than because it was necessary. They say on their website it's just for extra rigidity - I have no problem with my Soma being too flexy and I regularly load it with more than 10kg (although on the way back from Tesco, not all the way to the Orient!).

It can be, but you'd need to make the hardware yourself.
If you look at this photo
you can see the rear boss they refer to in their literaturerear through-eyelet...attach a flat fender or add an additional/alternate rack strut to the >crown of your fork
You can also get adapter for adding mid-blade eyelets, Tubus do good ones like this. If you don't mind me asking, if you're speccing a touring tandem why not get mid-blade eyelets on the fork?
-

Oh, this is great, thanks. I think your suggested setup of one strut on crown + Tubus mid-blade add-ons will be plenty strong.
And yes, it's a pertinent question. I might be getting something off the shelf that comes without the eyelets. Still tbc, but a change of plans might be on the cards.

I've carried way in excess of 10kg on my soma rack for years with no problems

Any thoughts on these?
What is the slimmest pannier available?
I only need to transport my laptop so 1-2" would actually be enough.
Thinking of modifying a bag my self if nothing suitable is on the market.
