  • I’ve googled this and now I’m confused... if you’re dehydrated the BF% on the scales should read higher or lower?
    I always get my lowest result post exercise but that conflicts with Tanita FAQs.

  • That’s not right though. Let’s exaggerate and say I was 100 Kg and 20% BF (ie 20 kg of fat) then sweated off half my weight to 50kg, still 20kg of fat so the percentage of me that’s fat goes up.
    Likewise if I drank 100kg of fluid my fat % would half.

    I think the problem is just the way the scales use electrical impedence, I’ll start looking at some of the other metrics that these Tanitas spit out, particularly body water % and see if there’s a pattern.
