I commute on a bike that has 2x1kg tyres. I have watts to spare.

I’d feel more smug having an SP and knowing I’d saved a hundred pound on my hub for the sake of a few seconds each 100km...

Nice.. Would love to try a Pinion equipped bike

Really? You'd feel more smug having an SP than a Schmidt on your dream bike? No ta. And anyway, trade price :-)

The SP does seem like the best bang for bucks. But really even the worst dynamo hub isn't gonna hurt real life performance. Having a jacket or jersey zipped open costs more time over 100km at 30km/h.

Very awesome 55cm tt Roberts Roughstuff on fleabay atm with campag 9spd triple group... Price isn't stupid but best offer available and could probably haggle a direct sale. Would contemplate it myself but collection only from Bow: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1999-Roberts-Roughstuff-Touring-Bicycle/332562712556?hash=item4d6e4847ec:g:2IoAAOSwCMtahxfd

They are trimmed. They even have the little plastic caps over them.
