  • Was thinking about your issue whilst searching for a bigger machine for myself.

A real alternative to using paper between the presser foot and top layer is either find the presser foot with little rollers built in, or else you buy a presser wheel.

The post bed Singer in Italy has the wheel and it's great, takes a bit of a learning curve though, as material sits different. Material may still drift but much less than with a regular foot.

I may be purchasing a heavy duty 'industrial' tailoring/alterations machine for medium to heavy fabrics to fire through some proper sized bags. If I do I'll almost certainly buy one of the wheels like this listing. I'm out of luck finding a good motorised compound feed/needle feed/walking foot (that is also cheap and local), and experience with the wheel before was positive.

  • The wheel worked fine for me, but the roller foot was suggested elsewhere on the web with mixed opinions. Your mileage will certainly vary, but considering the cost it may be worth the punt. Some more proficient members may suggest otherwise.
