  • Ha ha, "Can you move the printer so we can have breakfast dad?"

  • "let me print breakfast girls!!!"

  • Will offer up to forks tomorrow.

  • I think it is going to need to come up a bit after escaping the fork crown, which makes things a bit more complicated. One for tomorrow I think.

  • Guys, Im trying to hook up an igaro d1 with an B&M IQ-X into a SP-PD-8.

Both work independently - but together not so much. Think I need a piggyback connecter? See picture.. @hippy ?

  • When you say they don't work wired together 'so much', is that not much when you turn the wheel with your hand, or not much actually riding at 10mph minimum for a minute? Could it perhaps be something like the light capacitor need charging, if you haven't ridden it down the road properly yet? If not, I am no help, never used a power pack thingy.

  • You evil genius, you. That's it...gave it more of a spin and it came on. Thanks!

I'm thinking I'll get a switch for the igaro, which might help it work more efficiently? Not sure...

  • I don't think the D1 needs switching. It will dim your light when charging so I charge a battery pack during the day and unplug stuff from D1 at night.

  • Longer, angled front mount. This will hopefully clear longer forks and cast a beam over tyre. Will print tonight and see.

  • Anyone taken an Edelux apart before? In the past year the mounting lug that fixes to the back of the housing has developed play so annoys the hell out of me by vibrating. Assume it's the machine screw that has worked loose somehow:

Contacted Schmidt direct and they suggested I shouldn't take it apart as the electronics at the back are secured in with epoxy (I need to remove to gain access to screw) and just recommended putting epoxy around the lug/body to prevent the vibration. Understand this will work, but just curious if anyone has taken one fully apart as I don't want to destroy it as it's given me 10 years of hassle-free service (first one did leak & fail though). See below for reference:

    Ta!

  • My E3 rear light arrived today. Opted for the rack mounted style with bottom exit. Not sure why but seemed like a great idea at the time. Probably many different ways to mount I guessed at the time. My memory is shit. Not sure many companies love their packaging more than Supernova! Felt like I was 5 and playing pass the parcel because between SJS and Supernova, there were no less than 5 different layers even before getting to the tin!

  • So, how are you going to mount it? Make a bracket or use a rack?

  • Seat post collar bracket a la Matt above. Hopefully with enough depth not to be fouled by saddlebag.

  • Anyone disassemble a Secula Plus? Had one die recently after being in service for less than a year. Been a brutal winter where I'm from, don't know if it was moisture, the bitter cold, or both and want to rule out a loose connection before replacing it.

  • I've ordered the gold connectors.

Have they arrived and would you recommend? Pondering getting some.

  • Just seen the B+M version of the SON rack-mount rear light, what a bargain at £18ish.

  • @Klar is about to buy an expensive bracket to fit that onto a rack/guard mount on drive side

  • Not before I have a rummage in the garage to try to make my own. The proposed bracket costs more than the light!

  • Tmemeber that b and m is dc (I think) so won't work with son/anything ac.

  • I have run a SON front and a B+M rear without any issues.

  • Weird, I had a pair of lights supplied by a customer and they needed wiring dc, so had to run e3 at the front. Wonder if they were actually e bike specific or something...

  • Wierd. Maybe, b+m definitely build e-bike versions of things.

I had an Edelux 2 powering a TopLight Brake and it was all dandy.

  • The long ones easily break from metal fatigue -- aluminium is not the right metal for such brackets.

  • I made one from a cheap stainless steel cheese slicer. It works well.
