Back of wheel will struggle with 32mm given how low the "brake" bridge is.
Would strongly recommend a flat bar hybrid with a child seat, like a Pinnacle Lithium that can easily accept 650b if needed.
Given how you like to ride, the Trek Zektor felt closer to a track bike with a flat bar, disc brakes and variable gears;

Had no issues with RWS and carbon fork.
Pretty simple to tighten: I do up either ends until the non-ratcheting side just touches the dropout, then tighten up the ratcheting side.
You can turn that side pretty tight prior to locking the lever position. You'll know when its tight enough. -

@edscoble and @frankenbike good recommendations! Will have a closer look later today!

Can you compare RWS to ordinary thrubolt QR, is there a.noticeable difference? Also, does RWS make it easier not to have to adjust brake with allen key after every wheel change?

Looks good value that, Hydroformed 6061-T6 triple-butted aluminium as well

Looks like fender mounts.
Edit: Maybe not, those seatstay bolts can only be for a rack right?

That some new loony Planet-x bike?

Still eligible? I've been having many thoughts about gnarmac'ing one of these but I wonder would it just be miserable to ride on the road?
-

They both look like drop bar off road bikes. Tyres are huge grippy things that would sap energy on road. No idea what a lauf fork would be like.

Owner claims it's a beauty on gravel but no comment on road. Carbon one comes in at 10.4kg with Lauf.

Hmm wiggle only have the yellow verenti in stock in my size, and I don't really want a yellow bike.
Alpkit/sonder one looks like decent value, but it's not far off the price of the arkose, which has more up to date axle and brake standards, and more tyre clearance in the fork.
Starting to understand the title of this thread!

That was my thoughts. This could be perfect for what I want.
Released today apparently.

Which handlebar, @stedlocks?

That Stache with drops is mega cool. The 'Holdsworth', bar the paint looks like a good little bike too. HRD makes for a very clean looking bike, doesn't it.

They're the alpkit snide jones bars...

They look like they'd be good in a country with long, easy off tarmarc riding eg US or Scandinavian gravel roads. We don't have many of those in the UK. Personally I would choose a more traditional gravel bike for UK mixed riding or get a mountain bike for off road. The stache with MTB bars will be way more fun on sungletrack than the one with drops.
At least that's been my experience riding the Surry hills stuff on a monstercross Crosscheck and a hardtail 29er.
