There's been a couple iterations of the Tricross canti fork. The first probably being the most ugly fork ever in production. The other is mildly inoffensive.
Ugly:
Not so ugly:

It's definitely the ugly singlespeed one.
Oh mid fork mounts as well, cool -

So a can I interest you in a trade? The steerer needs to be 250mm. That's what the mine are.
Edit: the steerer can be longer of course.
-
• #55
I have to check on the steerer length. I'll be in the workshop a bit later so can get back to you then.
If it's a suitable size I'd be up for a trade! -
• #56
Bad news, the steerer is only 220mm long. If you don't manage to trade elsewhere I'd probably still be up for buying yours.

So a quick question. Tonight should I swap out the hollow axles for solid ones or go to the pub?
-
• #58
Take tools and wheels to the pub?
-
• #59
Genius. That's that solved then.

Well the axle conversation didn't go as planned. I purchased a 10mm x 170mm rear solid rear from SJS but it's not. The 10mm track but doesn't go on. The current hollow axle is 10mm so I don't know what the problem is. There is a 10mm + 1mm axle available to buy so maybe that's what I need? The front should work fine so yay for that.
And has anyone done a hollow axle to solid axle swap on a SP Dynamo Hub?
-
• #61
I don't think you can change the axle on a dyno hub. I used a Zipp track QR on my fixed gear front dyno wheel.
-
• #62
Yeah I think I'm going to have to go with something like that.
-
• #63
What am I missing? Why are you changing hub axles?
-
• #64
So hollow rear axle swapped for a solid one. And I'm pretty please with the results and thanks @Hulsroy for the inspiration.
So it's a 120mm spaced NOS Shimano 5 speed Uniglide hub with the axle changed from hollow to solid. Spacers from Velosolo and a Shimano DX sprocket. Currently 18 teeth and I'm going to pop on a 15 teeth one too for easy swapping.

The rear facing horizontal track fork ends and QR's don't really work. So it was either get a hex skewer or replace the axle. I chose the latter.
-
• #66
Going from QR to nuts I'd imagine.
EDIT: see above.

• #67
Right. Thanks.

Biek is finished. Aside from rack, panniers and dynamo. Any recommendations for a rack and panniers. I'm thinking:
TorTec Ultralight
Pair of Toliari 20 Panniers
And bottle dynamo, yeah bottle dynamo.

I'm away with work at the moment but I'll take some decent (?) photos when I'm back. But the TrèsCross is currently hung up and ready to ride.

And I still need to swap the hollow front axle for a solid one. But that's a job for a snowy day........

Love the bar tape. Looks great!
Needs LFGSS sticker. -

Indeed it does. It did have one but I applied it so badly that I had to remove it.
And on my way to the post office I hit the charity shop treasure trove jackpot. A pair of SKS chromoplastic mudguards in bronze for 20 earth pounds. And they also had a pair of Shimano Dura Ace C24's 10 speed. And a Charlton Criterium and other bits and bobs. Many more projects coming methinks.
