If you were 558th I really wasn't that far ahead. It was a pretty classic day out on Parli Hill, nearly lost my shoe in the mud twice. Highlight of the day was our clubmate and all round good guy John Gilbert coming third overall.
My legs are now absolutely battered.

357th overall for me, rubbish start, massive bottleneck at the top of the first hill, but felt good overtaking people for most of the race. 7th V45 which I was pretty pleased with, but mainly happy to get through the XC season and looking forward to some tarmac under the race shoes. Managed a relatively un-creaky 20 miles today (79.5 for the week; no OCD here!), and will have a light week mini-taper for Bath HM next Sunday.
