Scary. A guy at my work once had his gold wedding ring on while working on a piece of mains-powered kit. Burnt his finger straight off, and cauterised it immediately, so it didn’t even bleed.

Complacency, he knows he should have taken off his watch, and usually does. Unfortunately a 50second relay was involved in the snag so he decided to leave it on instead of using a stopwatch from the tool stores.

Ended up buying the rolex datejust in steel and gold for my mrs 30th birthday. The watch is 30 years old too, made one month before she was born. Very happy lady.

Apparently the Seiko SARB033/035/017 have been discontinued.

Probably to be replaced with something that costs loads more...

Thanks for the heads up. I'd promised my 14 year old boy one for his birthday in May, and hope that Creation watches can stand by their website availability. It will probably arrive with a chapter ring out of alignment, but thems the breaks.

Yeah, I imagine they’re going to get a shock when they get to work in about three hours. Hopefully there’s enough stock to make the orders.

Quick rough test for watch pouch. Got a big pile of leather to try make some rolls and maybe more single pouches. This was attempt #2, still need to perfect it but any interest if I make a bunch?
