Happened to a lady from Crystal palace a few nights again, while on the phone to the police she was told to go to her nearest police station, unfortunately most of the ones around here have since closed., and been turned into flats.

Latest cuts in funding from Treasury to the Met have resulted in the MOPAC 'solution' of one Police Station per London borough.
As the Met was also reorganised into Tri-boroughs, it is simple to assume it will become one police station per Tri-borough.

Hackney and Tower Hamlets have become a bi-borough police authority, but I suppose they must've gone tri-borough where crime rates are lower.
