I got the iPhone 8 Plus - it’s significantly better than the 6 plus it replaced. I like the X but this one was I think £250 cheaper(?) and I didn’t feel compelled to spend the extra.
Probably the wrong answer for this thread ;p

So I updated my work computer to High Sierra and it broke incoming mail for Exchange.
This led to me downloading Spark for the work Exchange account and HOLY SHIT. It's so good.
I use Inbox for both my personal accounts and Spark is kind-of in the same vein in that it makes your email a to-do list but in this case it's a stand-alone application.Really great.

Thanks @hoke @soul @Tenderloin
My 6 feels a bit laggy these days - is it underpowered for the latest OS?

Have you looked into what your battery health is like? It might be the throttling thing.
Then again, I find myself rolling my eyes at my 6 more often than I used to.

Yeah that's what I was wondering. Will have a google around for how to do that.

Coconut the app is one that gets recommended, anything approaching 80% is considered on its last legs. £29 quids for a replacement aint bad for a little fix.

83.6 - is it a gonna? :)

Book or go to the apple store and they can replace your battery in a couple of hours, I think for around £29

what's the going rate for a home button replacement on an iphone 6, mine's been a bit sticky recently.
Still usable but being a bit annoying. -

Is there a way to connect to external monitors wirelessly and extend your screen rather than using hdmi cable?
Ideally setup would be laptop screen and two separate monitors.
thnx

Can only think of the equivalent in production - something like a Teradek: https://teradek.com/
Can't see why it wouldn't work with computers though I confess I haven't tried it :/
Spendy though so you'd have to REALLY want wireless monitors : )

Is this called anything else? A search for "coconut battery" brings up loads of battery apps but none referencing "coconut".

Anyone tried to get a new iPhone 6 battery? I've been waiting a month for an appointment and have heard nothing
-
• #12492
Called them yesterday - they suggest booking with an authorised dealer as the backlog for store and postage service is long.
Call support - they can remotely check the battery for you and tell you if it needs doing. In my case they said it won’t be the cause of performance issues.
-
• #12493
It definitely needs doing, the call is open and the battery is on order. It's just that they said it was only going to take 2 weeks.
-
• #12494
Hmmm oh well makes me glad I decided not to bother right now.

Just get the X.... ;)

Hi guys, can anyone offer some help with a problem I’ve got with my Apple ID?
It seems that there is a suspicious card linked to my account. It is a MasterCard which I’ve never owned. I discovered this when I was trying to install an app and it says I need permission from the account that manages my ‘Family Sharing’, again which I don’t have.
I get a message saying that family sharing is managed by...and then what I think are Chinese characters.
However trying to solve this with Apple just has me going round in circles.
Any suggestions? -

Can you change the password on the account, or has someone moved the admin rights to another email address?
Check the billing history, if someone has hijacked your account I assume they're spending on it. If so I'd cancel the credit card and report your account as hacked to apple

And today I got an email to say the battery is in!
Tomorrow I shall have a working iPhone again. -

I’ve changed my account password without problem.
There’s nothing suspicious in the billing history, which is odd.The thing is I can’t remove the card as it says I’m not the one managing the family sharing.
Giving Gboard another try because of being able to swipe type. Still feels a bit laggy, especially the opening animation when you tap on a text input area so it may get deleted quickly. Again.
It's almost great
