No not pierced ears. It’s purely aesthetic, plastic surgery to make her ear more “normal” looking due to a haemangioma.
My point is parents do what they think is right and best for their kids on the whole within cultural and societal norms which of course change. To me a ban seems worse than better regulation and safer practices.

Yeah, I do agree that a ban does seem worse than better regs and safer practices. Though guess I personally feel that we are way to apologetic to religion. Dunno how many muslims/jewish/americans in Iceland but if cutting off baby foreskin is not in their culture then perhaps a ban for them is more acceptable than say the same ban in the UK.
(Though is it not in their culture to kill whales and seals. They can cut that shit out).

I don't feel you should beat yourself up about it.
As far as I can see from a brief rummage around the interwebz, the haemgioma tissue doesn't perform any bodily function. It's just there. And in the extremely unlikely event that she would regret removing it at a later point I am sure one could theoretically recraft something that would look similar to her pre-operated state.
In comparison, you can't undo a circumcision. Vital functions will be lost forever.
Ahhhh. Pierced ears! :)
If your culture has deemed this to be OK and you feel that it's acceptable then go ahead. Though culture can change and you may be called out on it by your daughter (she may grow up and not be too pleased with her folks imposing their image of femininity on her).
Culture is separate from religion but it should still be called out upon when it is realised that it is doing something wrong (FGM is cultural in some societies and slavery was once acceptable to many).
