• @hippy I serviced a new Aeroad recently for a customer with squeaky discs. Changed everything and the bike was good until one wet ride and the noise returned. I found it very difficult to get the caliper set straight as everytime I tightened up it pulled to one sdie.

    I can't understand why they have not mastered road disc brakes yet. My MTB is probably 8 years old, never had any brake service apart from pad change and stops better than anything I've ever ridden.

    Tiny dabs of copper slip on the bolt that prevent it from moving the calipers when torquing it up would help, best solution I can find.

  • I just squeeze the fuckers on tight and do them up while holding the brake in. I've done it manually before using eyeballs and a torch but this leads to uneven wear over time.
