Yokozuna Reaction don't exist any more, what's the next best thing?
Also, what are my chances of finding some cable disk brakes that share pads with Avid/SRAM DB5? Avid BB7 (or something) seem likely but I'd prefer something like Spyres or HY/RDs with double piston thingies?

Still yokozuna

Oh, weird. Everywhere I looked said they were discontinued. More expensive than I had hoped...

I'd have a butcher at the Juin Tech R/F1

HY/RDs seem to be the same price on eBay at the moment. Which is better?

HY/RD have the advantage of adjusting for wear, but you can't change the amount of pull.
Juin Tech is not adjusted for pads wear, but you can change the amount of pull.

Get some linear BMX cables from eBay.
Comes in multitude of colours, ditch the actual cable and keep the outer
Stolen is my favorite.
TBH compressionless have been around for ages to enable BMX guys to do their tricks without a gyro and not f the cables up. Tried and tested and I used to run it for my polo setup before going hydro.

Do you use a particular inner?

TBH, any work fine, bog standard Shimano cleaned with GT85 work a treat (cables oddly come out of the package dirty).

Setting fire to my bike has crossed my mind but not quite in that way.
I cleaned the rotors and sanded the pads but it still squeals.
I'll use these pads until they're dead (not long) and then have a proper go at the disc before putting new pads in.

Goodridge and yes, GT85 instead of WD40 for cleaning and lube.

@hippy I serviced a new Aeroad recently for a customer with squeaky discs. Changed everything and the bike was good until one wet ride and the noise returned. I found it very difficult to get the caliper set straight as everytime I tightened up it pulled to one sdie.
I can't understand why they have not mastered road disc brakes yet. My MTB is probably 8 years old, never had any brake service apart from pad change and stops better than anything I've ever ridden.

Hyrdaulic MTB brakes have the same problems we just forgive them because MTB

I found it very difficult to get the caliper set straight as everytime I tightened up it pulled to one side.
Tiny dabs of copper slip on the bolt that prevent it from moving the calipers when torquing it up would help, best solution I can find.

I know how to adjust mine so I get rid of most noise these days. Metal pads will still squeal when they get wet. Hybrid pads are much quieter generally (I'm running them on the front now).
The rear squeal on my is because the caliper died and leaked oil everywhere. I'm running the pads into the ground before maybe burning off the rotor and installing new pads. -

I just squeeze the fuckers on tight and do them up while holding the brake in. I've done it manually before using eyeballs and a torch but this leads to uneven wear over time.

what are the go to 160mm cheaper rotors?
and is there anywhere you can buy the yokozuna cables in black currently

CL or 6-bolt?
Really happy with these RT70 Ice Tech CLs and Ribble have then much cheaper than anywhere else @ £14.19 each.
