  • Really interesting how much DJs divide opinion. I think 6 has the balance of DJ talk v music played, especially compared with anything on commercial radio. Besides Keaveny, they get on with playing tunes pretty quickly. Take the point on playlist, but at least they playlist things outside of the mainstream.

I'm a total 6music fanboy. Bought my first DAB when it was launched, to listen to Phill J on breakfast. Campaigned when it was threatened with closure. Serial listener to Adam and Joe and genius of Collings and Herrin.

For what it's worth, I think Lauren Laverne is classic daytime broadcasting (and like the gumption of playing more hip hop/electronic music in the face of the classic guitar based listener base). Huey is brilliant even if some of his opinions can be divisive (listen to his podcast for examples), but the music is spot on. Nemone's Electric Ladyland show plays a great mix of electronica - again can't think of a comparable show available elsewhere. Lamacq's roundtable has interesting guests and good to hear thought-out opinions. M-A Hobbs on an early weekend morning is beautiful listening - this from someone who has spent a lot of time up very early dealing with baby shenanigans. Enjoy Tom Robinson's enthusiasm for music of all types.

  • listen to Phill J on breakfast

Still remains my favourite ever weekday radio breakfast show, Adam & Joe take the weekend slot.
