Is that an Isen?
-
• #3453
Ha ha. Everyone knows Wiggle’s in house brand was the inspiration for Isen.
I actually think the paint is pretty banging on this for a 500 quid bike.

20 inch mudguards. For a kids bike. What's out there?
Is there anything in white - i've had a request to make them blue so they match the blue detail on her frame. -
• #3458
SKS. Check folding bikes retailers.

did a bit of rummaging for 20inch mudguards for my foldy bike recently. anything that was a 'full' mudguard set with stays etc came in black. in the end i went for these. they arrived in the post loads faster than expected and despite the lack of instructions were a dream to fit.... much easier than the bluemels I fitted to daily recently.
edit: just remembered i did come across some non black ones but didn't go for them in the end as i was worried they might only fit the kansi and nothing else.

lovely.
thanks.
I might just get vinyl to wrap them... -

You can get Tern ones in white.

Full guards for a 29er running approx 2" / 50mm tyres.
Are VO my only real option?
http://freshtripe.co.uk/velo-orange-63mm-fluted-mudguards-700c/Or SKS...

https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/mudguards/700-x-40-gilles-berthoud-700c-stainless-steel-mudguards-long/Any experiences with the above?

bluemels also come in 65mm i think. they definitely do for 26inch wheels - I have the 65mm ones set up with 2.1inch tyres.
-
• #3464
Hmm they seem almost impossible to get in 700c but do seem to exist.
-
• #3465
I have the Bluemels and they are good.
They are not the stiffest guards around so they can wobble a little bit but they do the job. -
• #3466
Yeah I've got the narrower bluemels on another bike, they're not the longest either so was hoping for another good option. I've hacked a decent front flap on, but really want full rear coverage.
-
• #3467
Oh yeah.. If they were longer at the front I wouldn't think of any other guards.
I'd really like a set of Simwork by Honjo Flat 65s for my Vagabond. Especially in black.

£145 big ones....
SKS Longboards are excellent, just don't go anywhere near wide enough.
-
• #3469
Hence why I'm still pretty content with bluemels.
Still I'd like to get a pair of those when I get a job after uni. -
• #3470
Not as pretty as the Honjos, but stumbled across these M:Part full guards in 68mm for under £40

Looks like I just bought the last set though...awkward

• #3471
Good on you for getting them. I have no real need to replace my bluemels, so I'll wait till I can afford the bling.
-
• #3472
Should VO hammered metal guards be isolated at every mounting point with leather washers?
-
• #3473
Not at the ends of the stays where the fender mounts are, but otherwise, yeah leather or plastic/rubber helps to minimize rattle. I also blue loctite all the fender associated screws.
-
• #3474
Ta.
They’d got a bit rattly and I thought I might have dropped a washer but they were all present. Chainstay bolt and spacers were pretty janky so fitted new ones and they nice n quiet again.

• #3475
Anyone have a spare one of these or know where I can get a replacement one? Managed to snap it when refitting my GB guards.
Much swearing all evening.
Edit: SJS has them!

Bluemels were a fucker to fit. Struts were only just long enough because of the stupid position of the eyes on the inside of the seat stay on my Verenti.
Rear is fine but the front rubs a bit with a 25mm GP4000.
Roll on summer.
