Certainly does. Riding along having your bottom constantly fondled thanks to the very narrow stoker's handlebars. Magic.

Oh, and any idea what this little lever is for? It locks out the front brake, like a little handbrake. It's rather nice, but I've no idea what practical use it's supposed to have.

It's supposed to be a brake quick release, you just have it adjusted wrong.

Wow. That's a lot of tubes. They weren't taking any risks with that frame were they!
-
• #834
That’s right I am. Stoked to be stoker in the future :)

Turns out it's a Gitane with some modifications: Some extra tubes and an additional pair of canti posts. A bit on the small side as well.
Will build it up and see how I like it. -

2 friends have just had this knocked up in Ti. Attending some CTT events this year

I hope they're smooth, the back end of a Ti solo and a Hed 3 should make for plenty of tail wagging if they aren't.

Not sure they intend to use this wheel for the final spec however they did 18m48s on the v718 with those wheels on the old frame. Its one aspect they are undecided upon having broken an aerospoke and a oldskool Hed Disc already.

The Hed 3 is strong, but not very stiff. Plenty of tandem crews use them at both ends, so they obviously don't cause much trouble.

That looks lovely, how are they running the timing chain? Looks to be on the DS from the above pic but is there a custom spider or is that just running off the small chain ring?
-
• #843
Out of interest how much do Burls charge for a tandem frameset?
-
• #844
They are running 1x11 Etap. Its a 62T chainring. I dont know all the particulars however the timing chain is indeed the inner ring. The total bike weighs around 13KG from what im told which seems pretty good considering the sheer size of it. You can imagine it wasnt a cheap build with 2x USE Tula, 2x Rotor chainsets, electronic gears, enve forks, tri rig brakes etc the total is somewhere £6500 ish so Id imagine the frame to be around 3k due to the sheer amount of Ti used and Justins time as several options were explored for size/geometry. Quite a few companies have sponsored the new venture including Burls.

Thought I’d share the recent refurb of a Cannondale RT100
The frame was stripped, weld on’s removed i.e. cable guides, cable stops etc. and the frame was then ‘Soda Blasted” back to its original aluminum state. The frame then went through the painting process and is finished in Camargue Red with a tinted clearcoat. I have not replaced the Cannondale decals but have paid homage to Cannondale by putting a “C” on the head tube and top of the seat stays and also a “Made in the USA” decal on the rear of the front seat tube. The aim of the build was to have a very clean look, so Sram Etap was chose for the gearing with a 11-32 cassette. A custom Gebhardt 46/30 tandem chain set and a Gates CDX Carbon belt drive system with 74 cog sprockets. Brakes are TRP Spyre disk brakes with 203mm rotors and as the cantilever lugs would be no longer used, I machined some aluminum bar and inserted reflectors on the front and rear. Brooks B17 saddles were refurbished by Brooks with new oversized rivets, new badges and an overnight soak in profide. The Titanium stoker stem was manufactured in China to my specification.
Only thing now, is to get some good weather to put it through its paces, all in all, very pleased with the outcome.

So good.
Original Cannondale triangle or C logo and lose the red anodising and that would be my dream bicycle made for two
The black and silver mishmash needs to be sorted but it has potential.
