Cheers for the info!
I’ve been thinking - I’ve got a pair of Ultegra 6500 hubs laced to Mavic Open Pro SUP rims sat in the shed with very few miles... as I’m on a budget would I be able to swap hubs over for the r45?
Spoke calc says front hubs are near identical - rear spokes are:
R45 - 295.5/294
Ultegra - 297/295.1
Will the 1.5mm difference on the nds cause death and flames if I spend this evening swapping the hubs over? (Then have them tensioned and trued at LBS)
Cheers,
Matt
Rear hub flange diameters are too different. New spokes should be used. 1.5mm difference is quite a bit and risk is spoke failure at the nipple. The op rim is not stiff and flex combined with spokes that are too short may cause unhappiness.
Been away for a bit, sorry to drag this up again but in this case the spokes I plan to reuse would be 1.5mm longer than spoke calc says is needed... is this still a no?
Thanks in advance,
Matt
