100% yes, that XKCD thing is 100% accurate. Kerbal taught me 99% of what I know about orbital mechanics; my (near-complete) PhD in astrophysics only accounts for the remaining 1%.

Naturally! He's on another level! Last I heard (a few years ago) he turned his KSP knowledge into a real job at NASA.

I played a lot of simple rockets when that was new and I've heard it's got better and better since but I haven't been playing it regularly. I'm assuming KSP is much better due to the available processing power?

There's a certain amount of "what if" questions in my mind, thats for sure.

At the moment he's a software dev for a company that got bought out by Apple. But yeah, he's definitely a significant reason for KSP's success!

I think you'll be waiting for a good few years before having enough spare time to get off the ground (pun intended) with KSP ;)
