Right then, B&Q I go, failing that, the Deda thing looks simple enough.

Go Deda. It’s simple, works and is cheap.

Hi all, I heard this was the place to be for Di2 11-32 questions. I'm looking at picking up a new bike (Ultegra 8000 Di2) but would like to know whether anyone has managed to hack a short cage di2 rear derailer to fit a 32 tooth cassette and if so, what I need to do (i.e. longer chain / wolf tooth hanger extension type job)? Can I get away with just adjusting the B screw or will this likely mess with / put too much strain on the frame / derailer?
I will normally be rocking an 11-28 but need the 32 in the mountains twice a year
Cheers

why short cage?

It's a Canyon and that's what it comes with.

you could sell that and get med cage .. wolftooth might be cheaper/easier.
if its R8070 you can go to 32t I reckon, I have pushed 6870 from 32t to 36t (med cage) with some B screw adjustment

I have the older Ultegra Di2 and you don't need to do anything to run a 32T cassette but it will depend on your frame and resting levels of awesome. The new shit I haven't broken yet so let us know.

Buy 6800 (non di2) medium cage rear derailleur and swap the cages over.

Reckon I might invest in a wolftooth and see how far that gets me. I can't be bothered changing the derailleur over just for 4-5 days a year.

if its R8070 you can go to 32t I reckon
It will fit, since the short and medium have the same (upper) linkage. Just the cage won't have the same capacity, so the short cage won't tension the chain when you go for 34/11.

They work well.

Any advice for best way to wire up Ultegra 8070 hydro using these bars for the cleanest set up? Would like to use the bar end junction box I think, burnt hay is looking like a ball ache....

I just started riding my bike with etap and really don't understand how anyone can think it shifts slowly, it's practically instant.

I would have liked to use eTap on this build TBH, as it’s a balls out show bike being built for Bespoked for Genesis/Madison/ DT Swiss, so have been confined to their associated brands. Hence the Pro finishing kit and Shimano. I really like the R870 hydro groupset, but I need to use an integrated bar/stem set up on this for the added useable paint real estate, because show bike.... but there just don’t seem to be any useable options out there At the mo to get rid of the stem mounted junction box without drilling fuck off big holes in the bars.
I’m not complaining, as I’ve been gifted some fucking awesome shit to build a show bike with, just annoying that Pro can’t seem to make a bar that actually works with a groupset produced by the same by the same god damn company!!

Just shove the junction box under the stem then, keep life easy.

That’s what I’ve done with previous show builds, just epoxied the jenction box clip onto the stem for a clean look, but annoying thing with these bars is the garmin mount attachment bolts are in the only place you can mount the standard junction box under the stem, so if epoxied in that spot, it would rule out ever using a garmin mount.
Have looked at a few garmin mount/junction box combo thingies, but none of the ones I’ve found are gonna cut it for this build, so am looking into having something custom 3D printed as a solution I think i’ll Be happy with for this build.

You clearly haven't ridden DA Di2 ;)

Most of the people who diss eTap have either never used it or have a hard on for Di2. They are the same people still bleating about a recall, two years after it was released to the public.

I have had both, Shimano is better always.

But fuck wires and drilling bars.
