  • Yeah it's meant to be pretty good

  • In obvious news, Monster Hunter World is really good. I sunk 10 hours in on Saturday by accident and a few more yesterday.

  • I was the don at that game, @dapthechap and I used to play on a private server with another forum we were on before here.

Knew every single trick on the maps to get around the opposing team to the objectives and go for the instawin

  • Me too, if by every trick you mean where to blind fire rifle grenades into spawn points.

  • A code for a friend:
    8G22 66NH QEA6

    A code for another friend:
    KLR9 Q6NN 2625

PS4 firmware 5.50 codes if you want to give it a go before it's rolled out

  • Selling my Nintendo Mini SNES.

Got it from day one, unpacked and played on it literally for about 2hours.
It’s got great library of games, but having a trouble keeping up with other games on Switch.

As new with all cables, 2 controlles, box, manuals. Bought from Argos I believe.

    £70 in London.

    Cheers

  • Haven't played a game in over a month I think - been disgustingly busy with work/baby etc.

Just back from a shoot and he was napping so thought I'd play a round of PUBG.

First game I was afk during the loading screen. Came back to find myself dead (kill cam was amusing. Some guy on a roof with an AK tried shooting me - I was standing in the middle of the road, fairly close to him. He missed several times. Someone ran up and punched me. AK managed to shoot him. Then a mag change later he finally downed me. Must be feeling very proud of those two kills as judging by their aim he's probably not done it very often before.)

Second game: Stupidly parachuted somewhere fairly solitary so the first half of the game was me running to get back into the zones. Found an M416 and fully kitted it fairly early on (flash hider not silencer, only scope was a red dot). Ran towards a firefight but got there too late. Crested the hill to find a load of bodies around 2 crates right next to each other. Nothing much in the crates so I got in a vehicle and drove to the next zone.

Took me high up a steep hill on a narrow, grassy track. I saw a vehicle coming down the hill towards me but with no driver. I jumped out and lay down - took a lot of health damage on the fall so was prone while I pilled up. As I was prone I saw someone in a ghillie running up the path behind me towards me. He hadn't seen me so I shot him when he got close. Probably pissed him off something rotten as he had level 3 helmet and armour, gorza, an AWM with ammo, 15x scope etc. I looted his AWM/untouched helmet and suit (not as much use on the desert map) and ran up the hill towards the circle. 3 left.

The zone was a kind of bowl with a small hill on one side. I was ASDing on the hill trying to spot the other 2. One shot at me from behind but aimed badly and hit the ground in front of me. He should have killed me by all rights but he sucked a bit more than me so I got him. I then ran to the very top of the hill to search for the last player. He was on a second hill I hadn't realised was still in the playzone. He had an MK14. I had an AWM. He hit me twice. Thought I was dead so rather than panic I just slowed down and took better aim. Chest shot. Ruined armour. Another shot would do it. He zigzagged towards me firing wildly. Lucked out and anticipated his move. Chicken dinner.

    I'm basically shroud.

  • Looking for Splatoon 2 for Switch if anyone looking to sell?

    (could offer Skyrim for swap)

  • I really wish all my PUBG games weren't along the lines of "find some half decent gear, run around a lot seeing no action, suddenly get shot from nowhere / see someone and game lags for half a second then I'm dead".

  • ^ Try solo squads, way more action and not so many dorks hiding in the back of garages. Fun ruining a game for the whole group if you can take one or two out too

  • I enjoy your PUBG stories. You’ve had far too much chicken dinners though.

  • Play slower and smarter.

  • Got into Hunt: Showdown alpha ... will update after I play it today.

Looking forward to it but worried it might require a machine that could play PUBG in 4k at 140 fps

  • Just heard that MGS 2,3,4 may be getting an imminent remaster for PS4. I am remiss to give any money to Konami but I'd happily pay up for this.

Oh: the supposed manufacturer has confirmed this isn't happening. gotmyhopesup.jpg

    Hey. Spyro though.

  • Never got around to playing 4, is it worth it?

I've pretty much decided that it's not, aside from the nostalgia factor of going back to Shadow Moses.

Spyro remaster would be awesome though, my favourite platformer of that generation (aside from Croc)

  • I enjoyed 4 enough to do a second no alerts run through. It does a good job of tying up most of the story threads and earns its emotional beats much more than 5.

I've just started watching this Let's Play of it, on the strength of their brilliant LP of Rising: Revengance

  • I'm a bit tempted to grab an N64 and Goldeneye (and maybe Starfox) off eBay...

Gave mine to a mate years ago but they're super cheap these days.

  • Thing about playing retro games on retro consoles is the controls. We're so used to seamless looking and moving that it's frustrating going back. I know this from experience.

    And the graphics

  • Never go back.

I went to one of those retro-games pubs a few months ago & played Golden Eye on their N64 with my friends - completely ruined it for me. My memory told me it was brilliant but when faced with it in the cold light of modern day, it was rubbish. I wish I'd never been.

  • Haha, ok, I'll just live with the sweet member berries.

  • All of the above...

Goldeneye controls are a hot fucking mess and the graphics suck; AI is shit and the overall game is super basic. As a kid, I sunk hundreds of hours into it. Now, I'd struggle to spend more than 30 minutes playing it without getting frustrated.

3D games have exponentially improved over the last 20 years to the point that it's best to leave games you loved in the past (i include Mario64 in that...). Some 2D games remain decent but I was disappointed with the SNES Mini recently too...

  • You're just sour that @6pt kept whooping you at SEs
