Ok, have gone through this whole thread - Amazing work, but none of the paint schemes suit me as a customer looking...
Can I throw out a challenge to any custom paint resprayer to contact me if you think you can achieve any of this standard ? https://www.lfBOgss.com/conversations/316414/#comment14077778
NB: I researched 'liquid silver' (paint pencil - is opened, and liquid silver paint is poured out of pen, into spray airgun and achieves a decent Chrome effect ; a coloured lacquer is then applied to the Sarto Ferox to give its dual tone look). This would actually be my ultimate !
PPS: the BONUS is a paint respray specialist having access to another business producing custom laser cut VINYL LETTERING decals on demand or design (as I wouldnt expect all lettering to be paint based on the carbon frame - too time time consuming & requires perfection = Higher costs)

There’s a little bit of a fad at the moment in the motoring world, flat grey paint.
Audi and Porsche both do it, having largely followed a few high end custom shops like Singer. Called Nardo Grey at Audi, standard colour on RS6.
Thing is, when you see it in the flesh it looks... different? I can’t explain what it is and I’m not sure the photos really bring it out.
What’s going on here? Is it just a flat grey with high gloss over it, or is there some black magic trickery? Or are we just so used to seeing cars with metallic fleck through them that when someone doesn’t do that, it looks different?

I'm looking at getting my SystemSix re-clear coated over the summer as it's starting to show signs of corrosion on the joints between Carbon/Aluminum and a bit on the Aluminum seat stays.
Does anyone have any recommendations (preferably London based or close by) for someone who could sand down a frame and clear coat (with decals). Lots of places such as Cole Coatings say they are too busy to do simple or single colour jobs.

This... there's genuinely a gap in the market for somewhere in between crappy local powdercoater and NAHBSy paint God at the moment!

Has anyone had a good experience there though?

You're right... there's LOADS of Nardo Grey out there... we're all bored of it.
Those images are just as you've described.
The AUDI is likely a grey with a high gloss over it.In the Porsche... it's a grey with gloss... the bonnet is grey, then gloss... then matte...

I think, with this frame, unless you DIY it it will come back worse than where you left off.

Yeah sorry about this James.
We're currently spending more time saying "no" than "yes" which sucks.Drop me a DM and I'll give you another person you can try.

This forum isn’t the beginning and end of cycling.
Dave was really helpful to me, went out of his way to meet me to collect a ratty old pathracer, did me a nice tough two colour with a bit of contrast lining. Would use again.

How hard would it be to replicate the Salsa jellybeans over a white powder coat? And with what paint?
-

If you're looking to go the DIY route, use Humbrol or One Shot... They're equally appropriate options.
Rub your powder coat down with abrasives to gibe it a key. Then paint on your brush strokes and clearcoat the whole thing with Halfords rattle can clear.
Cheap and dirty but still effective.
