Blue or black dial?

I'd feel like a spiv wearing it but I personally like the yellow gold Day-Date
Rolex is a funny one. I used to think them vulgar and nouveau riche but when I looked into them, the way the company operates and their rigid design ethos they really grew on me. They do some gaudy bejeweled stuff but even that is immaculately done if not to my taste. Obviously spivs do
gravitate to them but so do real enthusiasts. I quite like that slightly dubious vibe anyway, it's amusing. -

I like the whole "am I being ironic?" thing, best exemplified with the two-tone sports stuff in many ways.

However, a modern Rolex does seem to be the least imaginative course of action - not that this is a bad thing, I'm probably going to buy a 5 series at some point this year, worthy, somewhat sporty, but ultimately mass-produced and just a bit dull, which is modern Rolex to me.

As a collector of diving watches, a sub jus seemed like an essential addition to me. I went with bi-metal because I like the tackiness.

Black, which makes it worse weirdly. At least blue and gold are a nice colour combo.
EDIT I should point out this guy's watch is worn without irony. It's worn in that 'hey I work in sales' sort of way. I'm generally a big fan of an ironic gold watch but this one is far from it.

I like the black one, its the one I have.

I don't usually like Panerai's, or chronos, but quite like the look of this, and the backstory is interesting, if true.

I have decided that this guy jars me though. Especially the way his hands fly in at the start of the videos.

I love SINN I had one of these once. Very cool thing. Oil filled so technically speaking no service depth as it was uncrushable an immune to leaks. Not that I dive. Should have kept it. Double what I paid back in the day.

I'm sure you make it look pimping. This guy tho. Would make the nicest watch look awful.

Some people have questioned the authenticity of the (unsigned) letter that was provided with it.

'It was brought back to Britain by an English soldier at the end of the war, after the watch came into his care following the Battle of Nijmegen in 1944.'
Took it from a body or a POW?

Was rocking this yesterday. Might put it on again if I can get out of bed.
Need a shorter strap. Obviously!

I think they were POWs. But he also took a sample of his frogman suit, which I thought was a bit odd. Also strange (well, awfully convenient) to engrave the case back with the date of capture in my opinion.

Guy who sits opposite me has one of those two tone silver / gold ones. Absolutely ghastly.
