  • The old ones have that functional red reflective triangle on them, that's a plus.

  • New ones have scotchbright, that's a plus.
New ones have thinner leather, that's a minus.

  • It was mainly so I can zip tie it and leave it on the bike when locking up.

  • How's that compared to the new ones?
I just buckle the straps on the interior of the bag, most thieves couldn't be bothered to mess about with that.
Besides, mine is an old one and looks it. :)

  • Do Carradice do a repair service?

  • I've sent stuff back to them in the past (after a phonecall) and they've fixed it for free.

  • Awesomeness.

    I'll call Sue (Debbie?) tomorrow.

  • Don't ask for Renée, she'll just walk away.

  • bloody hell!!....banana all over the monitor now.

  • I have the CarraDry in the shopping cart since a while, should I get it? Can I put a bigger DSLR in it? How can I attach it to my fancy Selle Italia saddle?

  • I think we need to actually see some bags in use so, I'll go first.

  • Well done, looks like a tidy S24O set up.
Mine won't be going outside for awhile, I don't ride in the winter anymore.

  • Yes good shout. I'll start getting some shots.

I love my Carradice. It's just so dependable. Even with recent stitching woes. It just takes loads of stuff, keeps it safe and has cool loops to strap stuff to. Mine often has a Bluetooth speaker (JBL Flip 2) attached, giving me an opera or Carter USM soundtrack to country lanes.

  • I do love them, especially for warm layers/lunch/ganja/proper toolkit/more food, on a jaunty day ride.

I'd rather ride with panniers these days for longer trips /more stuff, then again I've never had the SQR which would I guess make saddlebags more convenient for getting stuff on/off the bike.

Here's my Super C five piece assembly. Would be great to get the SuperC saddlebag on there too, maybe when the endtimes come I'll need six bags. For the ammo.

  • I ended up riding into a deep pond about two hours after this shot, front bags entirely submerged.

  • Touring mode with the Carradry and Super C Audax fits perfectly in the Wald - otherwise goes everywhere with me on that bike. Makes a great shoulder bag, always have spare gloves, shopping bag, pens, lights, etc. Would like some matching panniers.

Need to get onto them for some repairs on the Carradry and a replacement buckle for the Audax, but never get round to it.

They really are great, the only problem I've found is finding a way to combine it with some kind of support for the bag (other than a pannier rack).

  • Looking for a carradice saddlebag and bagman support if anyone's done with theirs??

  • Mine often goes in the Wald too

  • Great, real world usage pictures of exactly the models I am interested in! The Carradry looks that it can put lots of stuff in it, big, and the Super C looks much smaller. Hm, one of these I'll order, but tending more to the Super C. Also using these later coming from the bike a shoulder bag sounds good.

  • Yeah, the Carradry I basically just use for touring and a bit of shopping, the Audax is the better day to day bag, but it is weeny. If you want a bit more space, a Nelson is still usable off the bike.

  • Black cotton duck, chrome leather straps, many a happy year in the CTC. I loved my Carradice.
I was never a Karrimor man.

  • I use a Nelson longflap as my every day commuting bag with the bagman support. It's been brilliant since I got it and perfectly happy using it off the bike with a shoulder strap.

  • My recent Super C purchase from @Stonehedge works a treat. Room for my laptop and clothes on my commute.

  • Super C Audax with Bagman support and extra dry bag strapped on top. Felt very solid over 9 days of mixed terrain.
