Gator ride nicer but not grippy like marathon plus.
Look at Lifeline tyres instead?

Gators are shit! End of. Choose any other tyre that meets your budget and they'll be better.

I’ve done 1000s of Miles on folding ribmos, excellent tyres, ride much better than gators and imo much grippier. They go on forever.
I’ve had one puncture which was a massive thorn through the side wall after doing some off roaring.

General question for everyone: is puncture protection really that necessary? I've been riding around on tyres with literally no puncture protection and I've only had a couple of punctures in the last two years. And one of those was a pinch flat. Have I just been lucky?

I've just had a bead tear on a Vittoria Rando for about the 3rd time (all on different rims, I have Randos on a couple of bikes) so need something puncture proof and hard wearing but will not be buying another Rando.
Swithering between Conti GatorHardshell and Marathon Plus really.
Halfords are doing Marathon Plus for £20 but I reckon the Gators will ride nicer.
Also seen PX are doing Ribmos for £18, puncture protection be similar between Gator and Ribmo?
Or anything else around that budget that's a better idea?
