It's an odd map with Essex in the Midlands. Also it's not as though the chosen areas have equal populations.

Thanks for that. I lurk here a lot to get info as I find the whole phenomenon fascinating. Interesting/sad to see that poll confirm it's the young, progressive, educated and/or employed vs. the old, conservative, retired or unemployed.
