For one thing it's lighter. This random expensive 100mm travel fork weighs 1.65kg whereas the Lauf 60mm travel fork weighs 990g.
And requires "no" maintenance. And I think it's supposed to have less of a damping effect (as it's elastic deformation or whatever) so you don't waste as much energy going uphill and stuff.
What are the advantages of that over traditional suspension forks?
