What are the differences between the various Arkose frames? It looks like on the more expensive ones (4) you get carbon steerer vs. alloy on the 3? Is that it?
Same question for CdF frames - seems like you get Reynolds 725 on the more expensive ones vs. "Genesis MjÖlnir Seamless Double-Butted Cromoly" on the 10? Also nearly 4kg just for the frame?
Can't decide if this Hoy would build up into a decent gravel bike or not? It's a flat-bar commuter so takes a rack obviously and clears 40mm tyres or 32mm with mudguards. And nearly clears 650b x 47mm apparently. I'm thinking it's no good - geometry is probably all wrong, right? But it is cheap-ish for a frame that builds up to about 10kg... could get some fancy wheels with the spare cash.
Assuming I have a decent groupset already and some finishing kit, am I better off buying a frame and wheels separately, or buying a whole bike and trying to sell on the groupset? I suspect the latter but it's a load of faff that I'd rather not have to deal with. I'd need:
a. cable disc brakes and rotors
b. wheelset and tyres
c. seatpost
d. headset, depending on whether or not the frame includes one
e. BB if it's press-fit or something
f. new stem if the position is bad
g. new tape, cables, outers, etc.
£150 excluding wheels and with some eBay parts?
