Apparently Atletico want Azpilicueta and are willing to pay £20 million for him so if we get shot of him we could afford Crouch and his high wage demand.

I suspect that the Azpilicueta to Atletico press story has as much basis in reality as all the others. Clearly given the amount that Liverpool paid for a Southampton defender, Chelsea could not hope for £20 million for Azpilicueta.

I rate both Dave and van Dijk but I can see why Liverpool had to cough up that sort of cash. They’ve had surplus of attacking players scoring goals for fun but zero trophies to show for it. They’ve decided to do something about it but it’s cost them a lot. They got a decent wad for Coutinho.
