Have fun with the 10D!
It was my first DSLR back in the days.. and I still have it and shoot a few frames every year just for shits and giggles.
I actually love the shutter sound!
Build quality is also proper nice, the only thing that really disappoints on first sight is that tiny rear display..

I've had a 300d from new so I'm ok with the LCD, the build quality is a completely different league to the 300d which just feels plasticky and crap by comparison - you really feel it with the shutter - so satisfying feels like T90 or something.

Yes, as long as you don't go above iso200, things start to get a bit noisy above that..
